About Home Grown Real Estate

Home Grown Real Estate was established in July 2008, by Noble Pettus, Gary Pettus, and Joshua Pettus.  After years of fixing up houses and construction experience, the ideas and concepts for Home Grown Real Estate were a culmination of learning experiences that eventually led to what what it is today. 

Home Grown Real Estate prides itself in providing an innovative unique real estate sales service approach coupled with affordable construction and remodeling solutions.  

About the Founders

Gary Pettus -  One of the most successful businessmen in the Shoals, Mr. Pettus established what has become one of the largest construction companies ever in North Alabama.  In 1984, he started Pettus Mechanical and Plumbing Services, which today continues to be a mulit-million dollar plumbing, piping, sheet metal fabrication, and HVAC company and now employs hundreds of people.  After selling Pettus Mechanical in 2004, Mr. Pettus started a new chapter in his life he jokingly calls, "unemployment."  That semi-retirement quickly turned into buying and selling properties. After years of buying, remodeling, and selling various commercial and residential properties (and keeping his kids busy working in the process), he partnered with his three sons to start three new companies: Home Grown Real Estate, Harmony Building and Construction, and Building Technologies, Inc.  Mr. Pettus has six children, ten Grandchildren, and lives with his wife, Cheryl, in Green Hill, Alabama.

Noble Pettus:  Noble grew up in Green Hill, Alabama, and spent his teenage years working at Pettus Mechanical.  Noble spent two years as a missionary in the Las Vegas area.  In 2003, Noble began working on his father's investment properties, and eventually began to take on the role of project manager, in charge of acquisition, remodeling and sale of properties. Noble and his wife Megan live in Killen, Alabama.

Joshua Pettus:  Joshua also learned construction work by working for his dad at Pettus Mechanical.  After graduating High School, he served as a missionary for two years in Rosario, Argentina, learning to speak fluent Spanish.  After becoming a real estate agent in 2005, Joshua began to buy, remodel, and sell his own properties.  In August 2007, Joshua received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.  Today, Joshua is President and Qualifying Broker of Home Grown Real Estate and lives with his wife, Anna, and their son in Center Star, Alabama.
